In August, 2013 we finally made our dream of trekking the Cordillera Huayhuash a reality. We booked the trek with Peru Mountain Explorers based in Huaraz, Peru and were fully supported by Marco, our guide, Valentin, our chef, and Rolando, our burro driver. The expedition was much more than a long walk in a beautiful place. The Huayhuash Range of giant glaciated peaks over 20,000 feet is a great place to experience Peru's culture and kind people. The Huayhuash trek crosses a new pass over 15,000 or 16,000 feet nearly every day, opening another window into this magical place. Check out my blog post for more of our Huayhuash story.
